How Do I Diagnose The Secondary Air Injection Pump

Ok I am getting the code P0410. From what I gather it is the secondary air injection pump system. How do I tell if the pump is bad? I assume the check valve is bad, when I took the hose off the pump and drop of water came out. I was able to remove the hose off the air filter. I was getting a slight suction, but nothing strong. I Was not able to remove the hose from the check valve as it was still way to hot. Is there any way to know if the pump is still good or maybe coroded? Also the fuses were all good.

I have a 2005 Chevy Trailblazer LS, 4x4.

I thank you for any help you can give. I have my inspection overdue and I need to get this done and not enough $$$ to goto a mechanic.
