2011 Gmc

Hello all been a while since I have been here......I just prurchased my first new truck ever..2011 GMC reg cab 4x4 ,4.8,long bed ,with the work truck plus package...anyways reverse seems odd to me, when u go from park to reverse there is a noticable lag until it seems fully engaged . For instance when the trucks is reverse and I go to excelerate there is small clunk if I dont wait for like 3 seconds or so ??? Our truck at work GMT800 seems to go into gear much better ...any ideas?

Not sure... I always wait a couple seconds when gearing to reverse, and always have. There's more moving part transitions from reverse to forward than between gears.
