Steering Wheel Audio Controls

I want to add the steering wheel audio controls since it didn't come that way from the factory. I have done a lot of research on this, and I am still not sure 100% what I need. I have a 2010 Silverado. Is the wiring there inside the steering wheel to accept the audio controls? Do I just need to purchase part number 5 in the below picture? My truck does have Onstar, but obviously doesn't have the factory Bluetooth. If it is this easy to add the steering wheel audio controls, how easy is it to add the factory bluetooth?

Thanks

Not sure about the 2010 but in my 2008 as long as you already had cruse control all you needed was the pod and the wire harness in the steering wheel (parts 5 and 7 in the picture). I don't think anyone was able to order the wire harness for inside the wheel so most ended up just buying a new wheel. You will also either need a new plastic piece for the back side of the wheel or cut the one you have so the pod fits.

As far as the Blue Tooth goes if you go factory you have to find someone selling a used one as the dealer and part stores wont sell them. I've not done the factory blue tooth but from what I have read you lose onstar but some people reported still having it.

There are a ton of post about both of these topics, use Google instead of the forum search. Just type in what you are searching for followed by site:gm-trucks.com and you should have plenty of reading.

Thanks. I finally figured everything out and ordered my new wheel today. Also just got in my DIC controls and installed them. Pretty slick and super easy for $60.
