I don't think there is a option for 1500 or 2500 on the tires I just specified cooper discoverer at3 in 275/70/18. I did call the dealership and the guy in the service dept. told me to run them at the door specified pressure of 35. The sidewall is just what they are rated at. He said they get that question allot . He said the tires on his 2500 are 85 on the sidewall and he runs them around 40.

Let us know how you like them. I have only had them through one snow storm and thought they were great. Even with the plow and no weight in the back they were better than my old tires without the plow on and weight in the back. Can't wait to use them this winter. Also, they ride so nice and quite on the road.

There is a big difference in the tires. My 2011 1500 came with P265/65/18 and I have 285/70/17's to put on it which are Load range D or 8 ply tires. The factory tires are P's which are 4 ply if I'm not mistaken and the LT's are 6 ply. The load rating E is a 10 ply tire.

Most people say the D or 8 ply are for 2500's and E or 10 ply for the 3500's. I personally like the 8 ply's on my 1500 a little overkill but I like the ride.

Well according to the cooper tire manufacturer website specs for the at3 the only ply for the 275/70/18 discoverer at3 is 10. Also, this tire is classified under light truck there. I think for the money ($240 apiece installed) it is a very heavy duty tire sporting a 55000 mile warranty.
