OK My 07 new body style tires are finally worn out. I installed the rc 2 inch level kit and am ready to buy some tires. Has anyone heard anything about these tires made by Cooper. They have 55k mileage warranty and look decent. Next Question. Which size can I run now. The tires on my truck now are 265/70/18. I think I outghta be able to run 275/70/18 or bigger without scrubbing. What you guys think

I have coopers on my truck now. second set of atr's by cooper. I got over 40000 on my f350 with a service body. I think they make a great tire.

tI had the Cooper Zeon's before, and now have the Cooper Discoverer's H/T Plus. Both have been awesome tires so I'd assume the A/T3's would be a good quality too :thumbs:

Ok been doing some calculations 275/70r18 =33.15 at 10.42 wide 285/65/18 = 32.58 at11.22 wide and 285/70/18= 33.70 at 11.22 wide so I am not sure but think the 275 might be the biggest tire that will fit here?

I have 285/65/18s and love the look. I like the wider look. If I didnt go with these I would have gotten 275/70/18, but I like the look of being a little wider

I just put A/T3s on my truck two weeks ago. They were recommended to me by many people as a top rated all terrain tire and snow tire. They were also highly recommended by the tire shop I went to.

Also, there is a $75 rebate on Cooper Tires until I believe the end of the month.

You should come back after you have had them a while and report what you think. I will be needing new tires on my work truck and have loved the Discoverer ATRs and would like to stick with Coopers.

OK got the Cooper Discoverer AT3's installed today and I will give a review and post some pics after I have ran them for about a week. I have a question though. The sidewall of the new tires say 80 psi. The guy that put them on said he was only gonna put 50 psi in them since inside the door it said 35 psi and he didn't want to mess up the sensors. I told him I ran close to 40 in my other tires and did not have any tire pressure alarms. Well when I cranked my truck up after they were done the information display flashed check all the tire pressures after I acknowledged it by scrolling through them they go away until I shut off the engine and crank the truck back up and I have to do the same thing again. What needs to be done to correct this and can I run these tires at 80 psi like the sidewall of the tire says without messing up the sensors?

Thats what I'm talking about. Man that looks great. What tires are you running? So my setup should be Identical to yours with no scrubbing.

 

 

I have Falken Rocky Mountain ATS's because they have a 50k mile warranty and because I got them basically for free. they are pretty damn decent off road too :thumbs:

Sounds like maybe he didnt reset the sensors :dunno: you will need to go to a shop to have them reset the sensors to the truck. as far as 80psi goes...... that would be maximum I would think and Im not sure of a reason to ever go that high, even when towing heavy loads I cant imagine that. I would stick anywhere between 40(min) & 50(max)

The max tire pressure is for seating the beads. Not operating pressure. Run what the sticker in the door recomends. 50 psi is likely too much pressure for your sensors to accept. Since that is higher than the allowable pressure programed into your system, it will give you a message. The TPMS is set to accept a certain psi range depending on what tire, wheel or towing package came on the truck. Say that range is 28-43 psi for example. anything above or below that range will trigger a message.

 

I recently had cooper AT3's put on my truck and I cannot believe how quiet and smooth they are for such an aggressive pattern. I really like them so far but I have not been in any mud or snow yet to put them to the test. They perform well on wet roads though. I mainly chose them for their aggressive tread and 55k mile warranty. That combination is hard to beat.

Is there any way you got tires for a 2500, not a 1500? I just looked at my tires and it says 80psi, but I have load range E tires. 80 psi sounds way high.

    • Common failure.  You need to replace the fuel door housing.   The painted cover transfers over to the new housing.  To remove the old one there is 4 spots where you poke the plastic to release it.  
    • No such thing as regenerative braking on a pure ICE vehicle.     Regenerative braking is the re-capture of energy from electric motors and stores it in the battery pack.  So hybrids, PHEV and EVs have regenerative braking.     What you are seeing is the charging system changing modes is all.  Its likely entering charge mode for some sort of reason is all.  All of the charging modes will be listed below.   As for L10 vs D.  L10 turns off automatic grade braking.  L10 puts you in control of grade downshifts where in D it will automatically do it based on brake pedal position and other factors.  Otherwise L10 and D drive exactly the same aside from that one aspect.    Battery Sulfation Mode The BCM will enter this mode when the interpreted Generator output voltage is less than 13.2 V for 45 minutes. When this condition exists the BCM will enter Charge Mode for 2–3 minutes. The BCM will then determine which mode to enter depending on voltage requirements.   Charge Mode The BCM will enter Charge Mode when ever one of the following conditions are met:   Windshield wipers are ON for more than 3 s. Climate Control Voltage Boost Mode Request is true, as sensed by the HVAC control module via serial data. High speed cooling fan, rear defogger, and HVAC high speed blower operation can cause the BCM to enter the Charge Mode. The estimated battery temperature is less than 0°C (32°F). Battery State of Charge is less than 80%. Vehicle speed is greater than 145 km/h (90 mph) A current sensor malfunction exists. System voltage is determined to be below 12.56 V When any one of these conditions is met, the system will set targeted generator output voltage to a charging voltage between 13.9–15.5 V, depending on the battery state of charge and estimated battery temperature.   Fuel Economy Mode The BCM will enter Fuel Economy Mode when the estimated battery temperature is at least 0°C (32°F) but less than or equal to 80°C (176°F), the calculated battery current is less than 15 A and greater than −8 A, and the battery state-of-charge is greater than or equal to 80%. Its targeted generator output voltage is the open circuit voltage of the battery and can be between 12.5–13.1 V. When fuel economy mode is active, the generator is not charging, only maintaining open circuit battery voltage. The BCM will exit this mode and enter Charge Mode when any of the conditions described above are present.   Headlamp Mode The BCM will enter Headlamp Mode when ever the head lamps are ON (high or low beams). Voltage will be regulated between 13.9–14.5 V.   Start Up Mode When the engine is started the BCM sets a targeted generator output voltage of 14.5 V for 30 s.   Tow/Haul Mode (if applicable) Pressing the Tow/Haul Mode button located on the center stack, the vehicle system voltage is raised and the remote (non-vehicle) battery will be charged. Having the headlamps on will raise the system voltage and if the Tow/Haul button is applied it will not serve any purpose. The voltage is regulated between 13.9-14.5 V.      
    • Hello from Australia Just sharing that there is now a way to delete the active shutters entirely with just a plug in module. Opens up tons of room to light bars etc.
    • I have an observation and a question... 1) I watch the voltage closely because I have had to dial in the cut-in/cut-out voltages of the battery separator to my camper.  The "smart" charging drives me nuts.  Anyway, I noticed that when coasting for a while, and especially if lightly using the brakes (though not necessary), the voltage goes up from mid/high-13 volts to mid/high-14 volts.  Then it drops back down after stopping or going again.  Consistently!   The only explanation I can come up with is REGENERATIVE BRAKING!  Well, maybe that's a little bit of an exaggeration, but it's certainly free extra battery charging.   2) Driving on mountain roads I will use L and vary the max gear.  Things straighten out and I end up in L10.  Sometimes I leave it there for a while.  Is there any difference between L10 and D?
