Herky Jerky in the rear end?

2010 Silverado 1500 6.2L Z71 LT. 22,000 miles. All stock.

When I first start my truck in the morning, back out of my drive way. start going forward, and between 5 and 15 mpg, its very unsmooth. The motor runs fine, just feels almost like the rear end is locked.

Also, I noticed on Sunday as I was getting up to speed on the highway, while shifting gears it seemed the motor reved up some.

Are both of these issues normal?

beings you're from SD i'm assuming the weather is playing a role here. If you have the locking rear diff it could simply be it engaging and disengaging between those speeds. As far as the motor reving up, isn't that what happens when getting up to speed? Just lost on that question.

The rear end does this even when its 90 degrees outside. What I mean by motor reving is that its doing the reving during the gear change. so when shifting from 4th to 5th, it revs up more, like it slipped

it could be some extreme torque management tuned in the stock computer. If its still under warranty, i'd just run it by the dealer and get it all looked at.
