My 01 GMC 2500HD 8.1 stalls or won't start

there is no sevice eng. light on but it will stall while driving or won't start after shutting off. it will go 4 or 5 days running perfect then will stall and won't start from 30sec. to 15 min. I changed the timing sensor ( the light was on for that) and also the fuel pump, still does it. I shot ether in it, it tries to run, thats telling me the injectors aren't opening, what would cause that?

crank sensor, my truck did the same thing. would be hard to start sometimes and die others

 

found my crank sensor had rub marks from the timing wheel on the crank the new one was slightly shorter

Check your fuel pressure. Could be the pump going bad.

If you haven't changed your fuel filter in awhile I would start with that. I had a very similar problem with my 6.0 and it ended up being a plugged fuel filter.

crank position sensor 100% guarantee thats ur problem. mine did just that. its a royal PITA to replace, so be careful.

i am having the same problem changed the crank and cam sensors the fuel pump is only 5 months old
