It's wheel hopping. This has nothing to do with the differential. Put a new set of rear leaf springs on it. My '98 did the same thing with the worn out rear leaf springs.

 

Plus, most any vehicle will wheel hop, to some extent, in snow and sand due to the changes in traction as the tires dig down through it (hitting hard and soft spots of the same material).
