Corvette Servo

Has anyone installed a Corvette servo into their transmission? Is it relatively easy to do? I am also thinking about putting in a boost valve too.

Just last week I rebuilt my 97 4L60E. I did not put a shift kit in it, but I did put a Corvette servo in it. It did make a difference...gave me a very firm 3-4 shift and a somewhat firm 1-2 shift.

Afriend of mine has a 2001 Tahoe w/ the 4L60E. He installed a Trans Go shift kit and it chirps the tires on every 1-2 shift (don't know if that is what you are looking for or not)

Sweet! That is kind of what I want. But I dunno about the tire wear tho. Tires for 20's aren't cheap. I decided to order the servo from KDS Performance. And I heard over at LS1 Tech that it's really easy to install. I'll see how it goes.....

I've been thinking of doing the same mod, the deluxe servo kit from KDS performance. let me know how the install goes, transmissions sometimes scare me.

Depending on your truck, WATCH OUT!!!!!

I have the 4L60E with the deep pan and drain plug. I bought a B&M shift kit, and broke my transmission trying to install it. I read the directions several times beforehand, and there were several things B&M failed to address. First of all, I had to unbolt both my exhaust and my driveshaft in order to remove the transmission pan. The dealer gets around this by using two people, unbolting the tranny crossmember, and jacking the tranny into the body. Somehow, after I got the pan off, I broke the 3-4 shift solenoid. I also was unable to remove all the bolts in order to remove the valve body from the tranny, again, due to missing directions. I was not able to install the shift kit, and once I put the pan back on with a new gasket, filled it with fluid, I couldn't get any higher than 2nd gear except for one or two super-harsh shifts, which caused the SES light to illuminate.

Before you take your tranny apart, be prepared to pay for your mistakes. Mine cost $450.

The servo isn't a shift kit. you don't have to drop the pan to install it.

Well, I just got my servo yesterday and as we speak I'm trying to put it in. I've had the truck on ramps for the last hour and a half yet I have only gotten as far as taking off the heat cover. How in the world does the servo cover come off? I do agree tho....the instructions are very vague and you must study them very carefully. I'm thinking about having someone install it for me.

Sivart, KDS Performance has them for $15 ($21.95 including shipping). You can use the servo along with the firm shift settings with the HPPIII but it's probably not advised. 4L60E trannys are not bulletproof!

I decided not to mess with it anymore. So I called around a few tranny shops and I was quoted $75 for the labor. At one reputable shop I was told that he wouldn't install my servo because it is not OEM. I have the $15 made in Taiwan one. He said they are not reliable and he doesn't want to be liable if it breaks.
