Does anyone know which wires control the illumination and the diming of the window switches on this vehicle? Any help would be greatly appriciated. Thanks in advance.

  • What are you trying to ask? Do the switches light up properly now? The dimmer wheel on the headlight switch controls how bright all the switches illuminate.

Sorry I should have stated this earlier. Yes everything lights up properly. I recently had some speakers installed in all 4 doors. They have LED's that are supposed to light up when they're on. They dont light up. So I took the door panels off to investigate why they dont turn on. Well, come to find out the place that installed them didnt even hook up the LED's. So I was wanting to tap into the illumination wires on the door modules. Basically, I want the LED's to come on with the rest of the lights insides the truck. Again, sorry I should have stated this earlier.

My wife took it to be installed while I was deployed in the desert. When I returned home I was looking at the install and noticed that they wasnt working. I took the truck back up there because I was having issues with my remote start and alarm they also installed. They told me that to hook the LED's up they would charge me the labor which would be $120 for 2 hours. The alarm that was installed gives door open errors everytime the system arms. Also does not display the temp in the cabin. When I confronted them about these issues they said it was a common problem with the alarm and they couldnt refund any money for the labor they did. It's a Python 991. So, overall I paid alot of money for a half assed installs.

Unfortunately you have been screwed. I would take it somewhere else to get it fixed and report them to the Better Business Bureau. They sound like hacks and I would not want them to touch my vehicle again. Lord only knows how many potential electrical problems they have caused. Good Luck!

Are you stationed at Tyndall AFB? My Guard Unit used to go to WSEP there. What kind of diagrams are you looking for? For the speaker system? Take a picture of the speakers. How many wires go to them. Is there a separate power plug that was not wired?

No, Im at the Navy base. Im looking for the diagrams for the window switches, I just need the illumination wire for each door. I plan to just tap into it. As for the speakers, there is no plug, just 2 + and - terminals. One set of terminals for the speakers and one for the LEDs. I'll get pictures in a little while when I pull it apart.

Check the plug to the switches with a test light and see what wire has power with the lights on.
