I Need Help Please!!

i have an '08 Chevy Silverado 1500....my truck has a "reduced engine power" message...it was running fine and then it kinda jerked real hard and then just went down to a crawl 25 mph....but when i started it up this morning the message is gone and it seems to be running fine, so does anyone know why this would happen...and does anyone know if the engine detects a low oil level will this trigger a "reduce engine power"...im down to 10% oil life will this have an affect on this

Did it throw a SES light? Have it scanned to see if it there are any codes stored. That would help
