This was previously listed for 1500. The guy lives 40 minutes from me. How much would you guys pay??? I offered him 500 but I really don't want to to any higher since it is used.

Get a brand new one from walt at adcmobile. That way you have 100% satisfaction, great customer service and he will put a custom start up splash screen for you. I think he charges about 1k new.

I wouldn't pay more than $600 or so used. For $1k you get a brand new one with 3 year warranty.

yeah normally I wouldn't consider it, but if I could get it for 500 and it's 40 miles away.......

It says at the bottom of the listing that "auction starts at $800" so that must be his reserve. I would not gamble on a used electronic on a difference of $200. I'd definitely just give Walt a call, his customer service and follow-up is well worth more than $200. Plus, I'd imagine there is no transfer of the 3 year warranty.

I should have a "very" gently used unit coming available within a week (dealer demo installed for about three weeks) and it will have all the warranty of a new one for only slightly more than what you see as a reserve on this unit. Might be worth considering...

I recommend speaking to Walt about inquiring the used one from him. I would be nervous about buying anything electronic "as is" from ebay. If the seller would except the $500 then I would say go for it, but I am guessing he payed at least $1000 for it a month ago and won't want to take a 50% hit. Plus, when going with Walt, and I am sure everyone on here will agree, you will get some of the best customer service you can ask for.

Don't know - none of them will hit "out of waranty" status until 2014...

 

My guess is that like almost everything else, they'll have a flat-rate repair that will seem really high if you are replacing a knob or really low if you're replacing a display panel.

Advent warranty is three years to the original purchaser w/proof of purchase (and they're pretty anal about it if you're dealing with them directly).

 

We've only had to service 3 of them so far (out of almost 200 sold - which is some pretty awesome reliability for such a complex product), and for those they sent us replacements, so I don't have a lot of experience in how they will handle repairs.

 

They have a repair station in Ohio, so I'm certain there would be no issues getting it fixed, just don't know how much...

I too saw that Ebay posting...this is his third time i think he has been trying to sell it. After a lot of site searching and a generous amount of time on the phone with Walt from ADC Mobile i purchased from him...Great Customer Service and communication Bought the OGM-1 and Back-up camera...for the Ebay price difference it wasn't even an option to buy it on Ebay..... Buy the way i am new here...this is my first post ...be gentle!!!
