Power Steering Pump Replacement

Hello all,

I'm going to be replacing the power steering pump on my '08 2500HD, hopefully this week, I once came across the removal/installation procedure that appeared to be from a GM tech and now I can't seem to find it (of course).

I'm pretty sure the users name was M.CUEVA and I've sent him a PM but not sure that he's still reading these forums.

I believe the thread also had the fan/shroud removal instructions as well although im hoping I can get the pump out with out having to remove all that.

Does anyone have these instructions or can send me the link to them?

OR have any tips / techniques on getting the pump out. I've got a puller and plan on taking the pulley off after removing the pump so as to avoid having to remove the fan and shroud.

Also wondering if there's a fool proof way of knowing whether the pump is shot or perhaps just the 'actuator/flow control valve' may be stuck.

(I had no fluid running from the booster when I tried to drain the system to change the fluid)
