dinged bumper

got out of the glorious mall this weekend (everyones favorite place to be this time of year I am sure) and noticed someone left paint on my rear bumper.      Now the paint will come off but I also noticed that the left side (same side as the paint) is about a 1/2 inch closer to the body than the right side.  No dents in the bumper and a quick glance under the bumper looked like the bracket wasn't bent.  I realize I am the only person who is ever going to notice this, but do you think it came this way from the factory or is there some adjustment in the bolts that hold the bumper on that I need to readjust?  I have a 2002 C1500.

 

On a seperate note, even though I don't post much, I read all the time and love the site.

If it really is bugging you that much, take it to a body shop or a dealer and see if they can adjust it for you

You can loosen the bracket screws to adjust the spacing.  All of the brackets and the bumper has slots for adjustment.
