New K&N oil filter

I was looking at the Autozone website to get an oil filter part number for my sister's car and saw that they have a new black K&N oil filter. Under the Notes it says that it does not have the wrench-off nut where the white one does. I checked to see if they have one for my truck and they do. The white filter is $21 but the black one is $6. Is this the same filter or a lower quality filter?

 

I find it hard to believe that by just not having the wrench-off nut is a $15 difference so it makes me think it's a lower quality filter.

 

Has anybody used this or know anybody about the quality and filtering capabilities of it compared to say an AC Delco or Wix?
