Just wondering whether or not it would be better or worse for my clearcoat to buff it or just leave it alone... Its a 2001 and has ( I guess) the normal wear and tear scratches... Nothing deep, just the swirl scratches from washing I presume... Just wondering If Ill have worse scratches than I currently have If I go through with it...   :jester:

what kinda wax are you going to use?  When my truck got dented this past yr when i picked it up they had scratched the ext cab door.  Took it back the next day and he used some 3m stuff with a buffer and it did a great job of removing the clearcoat.  I believe though ( i think he told me) that this process thins the clearcoat.

Id practice on someones car whose isnt that expensive.  I used to do my dads but after using zaino its not worth buffing.  I zainoed his hood this summer and it looked better after 1 coat than all the times i buffed it

I know a few guys who have used Zaino on their F-Bodies, and its made 'em look spectacular, but Ive never really Considered doing it... How much am I looking at spending to do one coat??? Is it rather easy??? Fill me in!! :jester:

price?  HMM I spent like $70 last yr and i still have a lot leftover.  If you do what they suggest then its like everything its time consuming and will be more $$$.  I plan on doing the claybar this spring (never did it before).  I use the clearcoat stuff ($16.95 a bottle and itll last all summer).  I like it the best

Used "Liquid Glass" instead cause I couldnt find Zaino anywhere... I am VERY pleased... I also removed all my badging from the tailgate and side but left my body side molding... Looks great!!!    :uhoh:  :smash:

zaino is mail order you wont find it at any store (unless you find a distributer there are some out there i think).  I just put in an order yesterday ($63.75)

I have tried everything from Mother's, which was good, to Zymol.  I now use Zaino, too.  Email them for a rep. I order from someone out of town and takes about 3 days to come. Very easy, no white residue, looks great and LASTS.

Funny to watch a fly try to land and go skidding off the hood!

I don't use a mechanical buffer. In an experienced person's hands, it may be superb. But, I have an orbital buffer on the shelf and use small towels and do it by hand.

oh DUH sorry bout that it was early (just woke up and responded)

To take it off you let it dry (you can leave it over night.  The longer the better) then you take a 100% cotton (fieldcrest is preferred) towel and go in a circular motion.

I just printed out the order form. I'm gonna get the z-5 for the swirl marks. Should one bottle be enough or should I go ahead and order two?  :smash:
