I want to raise the front end and garage be damned

I'm going to do the leveling kit, either 1.5" or 2" (1.5 likely due to trailering the boat). I've measured the clearance on my work garage, and I have 3 inches. The concrete beams will win any contest on contact. However, I'm willing to risk it.

Question: is there any difference on the impact of the shocks from a leveling kit that adds a spacer up top only, or one that does it all on the bottom, or one that does top and bottom? Does any one impact travel of the shock more or less? The <2" ones I've seen that aren't steel involve a spacer up top. I'm inclined to get the Ready lift 1.5" aluminum spacer but don't want to stress the shocks. Any input is appreciated!

sucks that you measured and only have 3 inches

the travel of the shock stays the same, the ride stays the same, the stress on the shock stays the same. All that changes is the front end height, not ground clearance, and your alignment will change so you need to have it aligned after. There is really no difference in the result if you go bottom or top spacer the main difference is in the install, the lower spacer being easier to install.

Not really a big difference. The bottom spacer is a little easier to do IMO. But either way, make sure you get a front end alignment before driving to far.
