Help, Won't start

Hi Fellas, I have An 03 GMC sierra 2500hd. I went out to start it up and nothing happens.It won't even crank. When I try to start it i hear a spinning wheel noise from under the dash and a clunk noise from under the truck. After a couple of times trying to start it the parking lights come on and i hear a high pitch whine from under the hood. Any ideas. Thanks for reading

sounds like the starter isnt engaging the flywheel
