2008 Silverado door lock & window malfunction

Hey all, New here as I'm a new owner of this 08 Silverado Ex Cab. I purchased this certified truck two weeks ago and I'm not to happy with it as of late. Everything was great until yesterday when all the door locks and drivers side front and rear windows stopped working. The door locks work after sitting for a while but only once. After that they try to work but do not fully lock or unlock. I'm thinking it could be the door lock module but not sure. Has anyone run into this problem before? I've searched high and low but to no avail. I've realized there is a door lock actuator problem but I don't believe that is the case here as the windows don't work on the drivers side. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum.

As to your problem, I've read about quite a few problems of this sort have been related back loose or corroded ground battery cables. I'd start there, or if you got it certified used, you get a warranty with vehicle? If yes, let the dealer deal with it.

I do have the certified warranty but the closest GM is 200 miles. Thinking it would be cheaper to fix myself instead of taking a day off not once but maybe twice if parts are not in stock. I'm pondering how the ground connection at the battery would prevent the door locks to work intermittently and only the drivers side front and back windows to not function completely. Can you explain in more detail? Thank you for your help!

Electrical issues are not always the easiest to troubleshoot & repair. When you have a intermittent ground(s) for a circuit it surprising how your vehicle will react. The main battery ground is the easiest to check and fix. Try a search for battery cables and you'll see some of the other threads with electrical troubles.

I would call and explain the situation to the dealer. If they are like the ones here, if they can't reproduce the problem there, they will not replace under warranty.

It took 2 trips for me to get both my front door actuators fixed on mine.
