Rear main and rack and pinion

Well here it goes, my truck has 15209 miles on it and the other day I noticed my steering gear had a build up of dirt/dust all around it, I cleaned it off and when I checked it a week later noticed a tiny drop of oil hanging down. Ps fluid is good, not low. Should I take to the dealer now or wait and see if it developes a leak.

Sorry about that rear main I was gonna post about the rear main as well but false alarm, had already posted by the time I realized it was to late. You think they'll give me sh$@! About warranty work, I'm in the armed forces and I bought the truck back home, obviously not the same dealership were I purchased my truck.

Why would they give you a hard time? It is GMs warranty, not the dealers.

i think alot of people get bad info when buying a new vehicle about warranty for some reason ,idk,i read alot of guys seem to want to fix it themselves under warranty ,,,even stranger me thinks lol

Well I have heard that people who take in their vehicle to the same dealership were they purchased it get treated better when it comes to warranty work (same with people who get all their maintenance done at the dealership). I'm here at ft hood tx and there is a ton of Chevy/gmc's around here and the dealership is pretty small, Im about to schedule my appointment, but I will say this before I got my fsm the dealership here was very helpful with service part numbers and specs for my truck. I do all my own maintenance, but when it comes to repairs and warranty work you best believe im going to take it in and have a qualified gm tech do it!
