seat belt buckle upside down - how to fix it?

Recommended Posts

I've seen this in older vehicles. Kids would get bored and turn them upside down by folding the fabric inside the buckle and working it until it flattened out with the buckle upside down.

My passenger seat belt buckle is upside down. However, my '99 Sierra GMT800 has very little clearance in the buckles; I can't fold the fabric over. Is there an easy way of fixing this?

From my searches it's possible someone put a driver's side seat belt in by mistake.

It probably flipped over. I've had it happen twice on my GMT-800. Real PITA to get it back though (you can do it. Requires a bunch of patience to get it folded back, so you can slide it down and pull it through. Usually a bunch of swearing works too... )

Happened on my GMT900. Didn't realize it was like that until the first time I rode in the passenger seat of my own truck.

It was a B*TCH to fold it and get it back right. Beyond me how it "accidentally" flipped over backward in the first place....

This is definately one of those WTF things. I have no idea how it happens. First time I blamed the wife for being a dumb a$$. Next time it happened to me without even trying (of course, I said nothing... :happysad: )

It's like pulling I item from the packaging, and you cannot get it back in there!
