Mckenzie Posted May 30, 2012 Posted May 30, 2012 my dad just picked up a new powerstroke, nice truck. lots of power. but once again, are you willing to pay $78k plus tax to be Fords guinea pig once again????????? NOT ME. NO WAY. although this new 6.7 is supposed to be good, how many of their other trucks that came out said the same thing???? i like the new fords, be a tough decision for me IF that engine has been out as long as 6.6 it would be a tough call for me. im not a big fan of change, duramax is tried tested and true. its essentially the same engine(minus emissions updates and few other things but really...same motor) in over the last 10 years, something to be said.very true even the "legendary" cummins has moved over from the 5.9 to the 6.7 Sent from my smartass iPhone using Tapatalk
daxrizo Posted May 30, 2012 Author Posted May 30, 2012 ok it's now between the Chevy or GMC. SHIT.......I hate this. We are 2k apart for the GMC but it's not in the denali trim.

The 6.7 is basically a stroked out 5.9, the only reason why they changed is because all the emissions bullshit goin on with the engine the cummins was lagging behind in HP/TQ numbers compared to GM and ford. So they upped the displacement of the engine to stay in the HP race, but still followed all the new and latest emission controls. But I hear ya, the cummins engine block is by far the best. I'll always have a soft spot for a cummins engine, too bad the trucks are junk.
JaBradt85 Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 Get you a used dmax with under say 100,000 miles for around 28k and spend some of the left over money on some upgrades Sent from my smartass iPhone using Tapatalk I would say this is the best idea, go with an LBZ, LMM, LLY in that order.
daxrizo Posted June 1, 2012 Author Posted June 1, 2012 well sorry to say that no GM dealer wanted to deal today so I got the F250 Lariat Diesel with crome package and the GPS/Sync system. They threw in a full warranty of 7 years and 100k bumper to bumper. Never thought I'd say I own a Ford but now I do......said the same thing about a Harley and never getting married again. I'm full of lies now.

Now to pick on you...update the sig already and where's the pics of this new truck???? There I'm done. Enjoy the new ride.

daxrizo Posted June 1, 2012 Author Posted June 1, 2012 not yet. chrome door handle, bed liner and chrome exhaust tip for now. depending on what toy hauler we buy will determine what to do with it.
Garrett Street Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 Nice rig! The thing that would sway me toward GM and not Ford isn't the powertrains, it's the boxed frame under the Silverado. At any rate, good luck with the new rig!
00Silverado4x4 Posted June 2, 2012 Posted June 2, 2012 I'm not towing regularly.............yet. With a truck like that...you will...lol
daxrizo Posted June 2, 2012 Author Posted June 2, 2012 I know. a few more months and we will look for a Toy hauler after the wife buys another moto. She's had three cars and three bikes in 5 years. Talk about a woman who can't make up her mind.
