Got a recall for my 07 Silverado 1500. Says MATERIAL OVER SENSING & DIAGNOSTIC MODULE RETAINING MOISTURE. Onstar's link for the recall says; Your GM dealer will remove the acoustical padding above the SDM. Is this really all they do? I'll do it myself if thats the case!

You can do it but GM will keep sending you notices all the time about it and it will show as an open recall in the system too.

What does the dealer do if your airbag light is on then?

they scan it and fix it if ya want ,,codes present may or may NOT be covered ......

 

make sure you find out before hand ,,,,read the campaign for more info

 

maybe it mentions if the light is on or not
