Help with OGM1 and iPod/iPhone

So I have both an iPod I bought a couple years ago (5th gen) and my iPhone 4. The Nano when hooked up plays songs in the order they appear on the album but the phone resorts them to alphabetical order, only when hooked up to USB (it plays back properly when listening on the phone). This is annoying as some albums need to be played in order. Any idea what is causing this? Is there a setting I don't know about?

You can move them around going to the playlist. On the right hand side there are bars, touch that spot and drag them into the order you want them to play.

It isn't a playlist though- the issue is if I select an artist, playback in is alphabetical order instead of how they appear on the album. The Nano will play them in the correct order, even if I have multiple albums by one artist. The iPhone just plays them a to z for some reason.
