05 DIC fuel avg settings choices??

Hey guys,

 

I just bought an 05 1500 Crew Cab LT 2wd 5.3 4 spd. It is set up alot like my 02 ext cab. The 05 has DIC. I like keeping up with my fuel useage & want to utilize all of the features available. The owners manual just mentions the avg econ. My searches here have others talking about instant mpg, but I do not know if that is on the 05's. The only fuel economy reading I can find is avg fuel economy. Did the 05 have an instant setting or can I set it for lifetime & each tankful? I manually record it, so I guess it does not matter, but I would like it if it is there. Any other tips or hints are welcome. I still have to figure out my radio situation, rotate & balance these crappy Firestone tires, remove the bedliner and how to get my deep tool box in the bed of this truck. Oh, and un-slick the leather seats in this thing. My briefcase keeps sliding off!

I could be wrong but our generation only has the avg economy. I personally reset it at every fill up. Sorry but can't help you on other questions.

Avg economy only, at least that's what it is on mine. I could be wrong, but I don't think mine will let me reset it. It appears that it hasn't been over the life of the truck, it took a year for it to change .2 mpg.

if you hold down the arrow button (bottom right) it will reset. this button will also reset anything else in the DIC (not sure about engine hours).

Just to confirm, you won't be able to reset your engine hours (they will reset themselves, but that's another thread). Also your "Range" cannot be reset either.

I think I will it for mileage per tank. I wonder what most drivers use it for?

Seats are still slick, briefcase hit the floor again. Another topic. Golf clubs are on the floor, need toolbox.
