2011 L9H vs 2500 HD

What are teh differences? I know you can't get the short short bed in the 2500, you get a full size short bed in the crew cab. I know the 2500 didn't have the 6.2L it had the 6.0L, but what is the difference in brakes, transmission, rear, and suspension? Will air bags get me close to the same towing capacity of the 2500?

They are two different beasts. The frames, brakes, cooling systems, suspension, are different. The trans on the new 3/4tons are the 6L90 or Ally vs. 6L80, the rear differential on the 2500HD are the 10.5 or 11.5, the spring packs have a much higher load cap, brakes are bigger and thicker. Overall the 2500HD are overbuilt work trucks that have to survive getting beat up every day for 100-200k, while the 1/2 tons are built well, but also with the understanding that ride handling, comfort and gas mileage are more priorities. To better illustrate that, the 3/4 ton GMT800 and early GMT900 2500HD platforms actually had the same chassis as the SRW 1 tons, except the spring packs. Both are good trucks.
