Add OEM bluetooth in 08 Silverado??

I have a 2008 Silevrado LT, no bose and no nav

 

I have the opportunity to purchase a steering wheel from a 2010 that has the audio and bluetooth controls (my current wheel has cruise controls only). Do you guys know if my truck is bluetooth ready? Or do i have to purchase some additional parts?

it's not i believe you ahve to change something inside i cant remmeber wtf it is but it's not going to work rightby just adding the wheel.

Bluetooth is part of the Onstar module IF you truck came with a module that had BT built in. But yours did not since you do not have the SW controls.

 

As was the case with my 09. I bought a SW off ebay that had the radio controls and I at one point had an upgraded Onstar module with BT built in that I also got off ebay. Note that Onstar did not work - some have had sucsess with switching it over but I didnt try. I eventually sold it when I upgraded my head unit to an OGM1 which has BT.

 

There is an enormous thread a year or two back about this topic and which models to look for. Do a search I am sure you can find it.
