Unique Oil pressure gauge problem

I've had this intermittent problem now for about 2 years.

What happens is when I'm using the truck when it rains, the oil pressure gauge goes to 0(zero). If you pull over and shut it down and wait about 3 mins, and start it again, the gauge returns to normal. I can use the truck for weeks, and if it doesn't rain, no problems.

Several weeks ago in the rain to go shopping, I pulled into the parking lot and at the same time as the gauge dropped to 0, the truck wouln't move, like it was in neutral. I shut it off and waited a couple of mins, and everything returned to normal.

I've had it to a Chevy dealer 2 times because I still have the GMPP on it.

They said that the trans TCC Module was shorted and replaced it under warranty, also found a dead cell in my 1 year old Interstate battery, replaced it with OEM Delco. The AC needed to be charged. Walked out with a $600 bill which included the $200 deductible.

Don't you know the first time out in the rain, it happens again!

It goes back again, and this time they find chewed wires in the botton of the fuse box. Repared the wires and ran it thru a car wash several times, and drove it a few miles in the rain. It was a no show for them, so the advisior says it's good to go! The problem was the mice! Another $130 bill.

I get the truck home Friday, and park in the driveway. The following day was suppose to have heavy rain, so I was hoping to drive it in the rain, but when the rain finally got here, we were sitting down to dinner. So I just ran out and started the truck, let it run for 10 mins, went out to shut it off, and the gauge went to 0 right in front of me!

It back at the dealer again.

I'm wondering if anyone either has had a similar problem, or knows if there is a service bulletin on this problem. I know about the instrument cluster recall, but it's only the the oil pressure gauge.

A quick update!

In Oct of 2012, GM replaced the cluster under my GMPP, finally, and I never had the problem happen again!
