Driveshaft Clunk

Recommended Posts

I have had my truck into the dealer 3 times to get that "clunk" in the driveshaft fixed but they keep telling me there is no fix for reg-cab trucks, only ex-cab.  I understand that the ex-cab yolk might not fit but they should have come up with a fix by now.  The tech keeps telling me to check back every few months to see if they have a fix but it's been 6 months now!  This service is really starting bother me.  Has anyone else had this problem on reg-cabs?  Any suggestions to a self repair?  I have read about greasing the yolk but that is only a temporary fix.  Thanks in advance!

I realize that our trucks are different but just to try to help you out I will tell you that I went through the same problem with the same answers from my service manager. I ended up fixing it myself but mine was loose bolts on the tranny mount to the tranny. They had tried everything else and could not find the problem even though they could duplicate it.
