loud clacking

08 gmc truck 4.8, many months ago the camshaft & lifters failed, parts were replaced. drove to school this morning and it ran great, started it up after class and had a very loud clacking, then oil light turned on w/low pressure message.

 

Oil level if fine, i have a bad feeling that the bearings are shot, pretty sure the oil pump is too. i bet i have had metal shavings in the engine from the cam/lifter failure causing the pump to quit.

 

any one else had this?

Haven't seen it on a 4.8 but I have seen it on several other engines (GM and others). Hope it's under warranty.

the powertrain warrenty is still there

i only have 41.850 miles!

Ouch, they should have flushed engine or at least checked for shavings from the last Boo boo. It's should be covered if not open wallet
