chevy2000 Posted January 10, 2003 Posted January 10, 2003 Hi all, I am new to this site, and so far, it looks pretty good. I am looking for a good cat back system for my 2000 Z71 w/5.3L engine. I have been looking around on the net, and what I am looking for is a system that will produce nice tones at start-up and take-off, but not be too lout at cruising speeds. From the looking that I have done, I am leaning towards the Gibson cat back exhaust system that exits at an angle behind each rear wheel. Most of the systems that I have seen either exit straight out the back, or on one side of the truck. If anyone has any suggestions as to a brand or website, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks
gandolphxx Posted January 10, 2003 Posted January 10, 2003 The 5.3L will benefit most from headers, cat back will only help a bit. Be aware that the dual kits tend to reduce back pressure and lose low end torque, thats why the single out the side is the most popular.
