Didn't he coin the phrase, Go big or go home?

And, as far as popularity with the kids, I've read he is second only to Santa Claus.

It is said that he was the first one to pull his ship up next to another, and loudly yell, "Pardon me. But do you have any Grey Poupon?"

It's also been reported that he had a thing for large women.

Little known fact: His birth name is Amerigo Jones. But because of his... um... preferences in women, he had his last name changed to Vespucci, pronounced ves-POO-chee.

Wouldn't that be "Go big and go home"?

I don't know... I checked Snopes and they wouldn't commit in either direction.

Have you tried his Facebook page?

I thought about it but I figured with him being dead it wouldn't be very reliable. It would make total sense for his family to embelish the details on that page in order to keep people interested in his story. Did you know that of all historical figures, pre-1733, there have been more children's books writen about AV than any other man. It's also been reported that he had a thing for large women.

Good man! I myself don't mind a little extra fluff!
