Aftermarket Stereo and DIC

I think I know the answer, but......

My '05 Sierra 1500 Z-71 has the factory Delco CD stereo, and it also has the Steering Wheel controls that operate the radio and access the Drivers Information Center (oil life remaining, average fuel economy, etc). It doesn't have OnStar. I know that Crutchfield sells a device that will enable the steering wheel controls to operate the aftermarket radio, but does anyone know if it will allow the DIC to function with the respective steering wheel controls? I'm guessing not.

Thanks!

Dic will function. If you want to retain radio controls with after marker stereo get the PAC SWI-RC I believe

Sounds like my steering wheel controls for the Driver Information Center will still operate regardless, but the radio controls will require the adapter setup. Obviously will still need the chime harness to allow the DIC to "chime" it's warnings/etc.....sound right?
