Auto dim mirror question

I just traded my 08 Silverado 1lt for a 12 Silverado 1lt. My 08 came with auto dim mirror and my 12 didn't, does anyone know if the two can be switched without any issues? (Temp and compass feature)

The mirror itself is plug and play.

 

The temp. display feature is not though. You will have to run a wire for that.

I switched the mirrors and it canceled out the temp in the gauge cluster of my 12 and is

also blank in the mirror, any input?

Yes,...........................you need to run the temp. sensor wire to the top of the truck to get a reading. This is explained in the FOR SALE section. A member there sells these type of take out mirrors and has information and instructions in that section.

Don't you just love the way GM improves their trucks by deleting previously standard features nad jacking up the sticker prices?

Get an auto dim mirror without temp display and keep the cluster display. Trav-13 has them for sale on this forum. You have the temp sensor you just can't run two devises on it. Auto dim only mirror will work.
