Recommended Posts

I am planning on getting the flowmaster 40 with dual out the rear. What is a good price with hardware and labor? Everyone who qoutes seem to be $50 to $100 different.

Any thoughts are much appreciated!

Thanks.

I have the 40 series and have duals out the back.  I had it done at Meinkie and it was something like $350.00.  They cut the pipe just in front of the stock muffler and then put on the new muffler custom bent the new pipes adding new hangers along the way.  Mine was single 3in inlet dual 2.5 outlet with 4in tips on each side of my hitch.

Looks and sounds great.

You do notice it in the cab with the windows up but to me it is not unbearable.   Just keep that in mind when you choose the muffler model.

I noticed a little more snap off throttle.  Which is just the opposite of what I have heard other people say.   :flag:

I had a 40 series Flowmaster on my '01 Silverado with duals out the side behind the rear tires. A local muffler shop bent and installed the pipes (2.5" pipe) and muffler for $95. I think the muffler cost me around $60.

I just had my '99 GMC done, stright pipes (no muffler) from the cats back. That cost me $105. My GMC is the old body style so I have the 5.7L engine. It sounds allot better then the 5.3L with the Flowmaster. The GMC is a bit load but sounds good.
