What products (cleaners, tools, towels etc.) have you guys found to be best for removing grime and oils from the windshield?

How about cleaning the wiper blades?

I use Stoners invisible glass, and rainx also from time to time. Try not to make a habit of using rubbing alcohol, its will dry out your blades quickly. Some regular soap and water for the blades is best.

To clean old rain x, road film, car wash wax and all that stuff that smears your windshield, you need to get a bottle of

No Touch Glass Striper and Cleaner from Napa.

It is like a liquid polishing compound with cleaners to remove the oil and wax residue.

I use a 6" buffer to clean my Crew Cab glass. The water sheets off instead of beading up on the side glass making it much easier to see out of. Especially at night in the rain with light glare from traffic. The beaded up water is much harder to see thru. I have used many bottles of Rain x thru 30 years, but it does not seem to work as well as it did. I never liked it on side glass anyway. If you go thru car washes, their wax needs to be cleaned off with this stuff.

The No Touch is a little work to put on and remove, with Stoners afterward, but it is worth it to these older eyes at night.

Good luck
