New Magnaflow Exhaust

Just got my Magnaflow Dual Exhaust installed a couple days ago, I love it - sounds amazing... Its got that nice gurgle sound without being too loud, and when I'm cruising around town I can't hear it at all from the inside. I would suggest it to anyone looking for a mellow but powerful sounding exhaust when you get on it.

I totally agree with you. I just had Magnaflow muffler install in my GMC 2002 Z71 couple weeks ago and it sounds great. Quit in the cab and a very nice deep tone outside.  :flag:

Is there any noticable loss of low-end torque?  I'd love to put a mild muffler on my truck, but I can't afford to lose any low-end grunt at all...

Are you all talking about true duals (two mufflers) or are you talking about the single muffle (two in two out). I have a 8.1 with the 2- 3" in and the 2- 2.5 out and it sounds great. I was impressed with Magnaflows ability to make it so quiet inside the truck and at idle. I noticed mine has gotten a lot louder after about thre or four months. Magnaflow has out done themselves. Cost wasn't to bad either (225.00 including both tailpipes installed)

It seems like there might have been a little bit of low end loss, but my truck seems weird in that sometimes it has a lot of grunt and sometimes it doesn't, regardless of temperature or conditions like that... It seems like it might rev up a little slower if anything - but I was mainly going for a nice sound instead of a powerhouse.

It is not a true dual system, its one muffler that goes out the rear in two spots. Looks really nice, I'll take pictures and try to get some sound clips if I get a chance or if you guys express interest.

I actually heard that a true dual system isn't as good for these trucks as just the single like that, though I may be wrong... Hardly had enough cash to do a single muffler let alone two  :jester:

According to the Magnaflow website, they only have side exit pipes.  The tail pipes are 3" and have a 4" tip.

Costs??

Shane,

As you know, I had 2 mufflers/2 exit pipes put on mine with turbo(not Magnaflow) mufflers.  I didn't notice any loss in power.  I have 2 1/2 inch pipes coming out of the mufflers then into 2 3 inch 22 inch long tips that exit on each side of the rear tires.  Sounds great outside.  No interior resonance.  I also have a FIPK and HPP programming as well, and can say that it is a nice improvement over stock.  That might be a little more than you're willing to do though.  It can add up quick.  But if you're just interested in the exhaust, you shouldn't see or feel any decrease in power.

I have 2 40 series flowmasters if ya want em! (They were freaking loud.  Interior resonance was aweful)
