Help! Broken Dash Grab Handle Clip

The left side of my dash handle won't stay clipped in. I took the vents out and the clip seems to be broken or stuck. Any idea how to fix it?

You might try removing the dash cover and see if it gives you any better access to the white button. Other than that I can't offer much. I've had mine off several times, but never had a problem with the release button

For some reason I think you have to go through the glove box.

Thanks. The A-holes at the Chevy dealership did it a while back. They took my dash apart for a short in a wire for my brakelights. But then denied that it was their fault.
