That a Canadian (Celine Dion) is singing "God Bless America"?

Not that I'm offended, just curious as to whether or not anyone else noticed.

I thought it was weird too... but she did do a great job!!!

I thought the National Anthem by the Dixie Chicks was very good!!! It brought goose bumps to my arms... Although any time I hear a good rendition of the National Anthem any more, I always have those patriotic hairs on my arms raising to attention!!!

I noticed before. I don't have a problem with a Canadian singing it, I just don't like it that SHE sang it. I can't stand her. But At least it was just for that, and they didn't make me suffer through her for the halftime show like they made me suffer through Shania Twain.

Shania was the best thing about the halftime show... no doubt didn't sound all that hot tonight which is strange...

I agree with ya Elwood. I have no prob with a Canadian singing God Bless America. But I can't stand Celine or Shania...they both annoy the #### out of me.

No Doubt sounded and looked terrible IMO, Sting wasnt all that great either. And what was up with that naked drummer with the black lips? I hate country but Shania did the best.

Heck-I think it's nice to have a Canadian sing the Anthem. Things have been a little stressed between our gov'ts the past year or so and maybe things like that will help overcome the differences between our countries.

As a Canadian I'll chime in,

Celine Dion singing anything makes me want to .

I too found it weird that she would sing "God bless America", her being Canadian, and all.

Shania now, is a different story, she could sing gospel, and I'd still want to watch her like a young school boy.

I enjoyed No Doubt. Sting, well didn't matter either way, I'm not huge Sting fan. I know he'ss good, I just never liked him much. But I've always liked No Doubt, and I thought they sounded just as good as they usually do. I didn't even watch Shania, I had my wife yell at me when she was through. I can't stand her.

Once again, the Canadians are a smart people. They know what an aweful singer they created, so they have shipped her off to Vegas so they don't have to put up with her. Ugh, I could always hope that the new building that Ceasers built for her to sing in explodes or something. This city already sucks ass the last thing we need is one more annoying person who thinks they have talent...

I've got my grunts against all the performers mentioned above except for Sting.

No Doubt- I find their new song "Underneath it all" HIGHLY deppressing, I need to pop in songs with hateful words and hard beats to get me back in a good mood again.

Shania Twain- She's ok as far as looks go, but that's about it.

Celine Dion- I'll sum it up by this, If they ever need to replace the tone of the emergency alert system, they can use her voice.
