Adding Sirius with iSimple

So here's the deal, I have a 2012 Sierra SL that did not come with satellite radio. When I hit my band buttons I only have AM/FM and no option for XM. I found this kit that uses the ISGM571 from iSimple and the SCC1 tuner from sirius. For 200 bucks I can't go wrong being able to use my factory head unit. Has anyone ever tried this out and know if it works? I read through the instructions and it says to keep hitting the band button and XM will show up but if it doesn't show up now, will it with the addition of this unit?

I've used the ipod integration and it works great. I haven't tried the XM integration. I guess my biggest concern would be reception. I'm not sure how the antenna is set up but i'd be interested to know how it turns out. I wouldn't want a wire running up the side of my truck with a magnetic antenna stuck on the roof!!

The antenna isn't the issue here, its basically hidden behind all the panels and just goes at the center of the windshield. The magnet doesn't hurt the truck in any way. I had one on my old truck for a long time with no issues or paint damage.

So it works. Just fine. No issues. I'll be doing a how to soon once I get the pictures loaded. For anyone who wants sirius or XM but doesn't want to go the factory root, this is the next best option using your factory deck.

I use the ISGM571 for the iPod and HD radio and have not had a issue with it yet
