You wasted your money on the remote filter version. I did this back in May and used the old style single port version. Cost all of $25. Most important thing to remember is not to overfill your gas tank! Stop filling when the nozzle clicks off! Don't round up to an even amount or try to squeeze extra fuel in as this is the #1 cause of failures.

So basically to avoid the problem is too NOT overfill the tank after the pump cuts off at a full level?

does this principle applies to ALL late model cars? I tried overfilling on my 91 Corolla but there is no check engine that comes on lol but fuel will be spilling outta the filler neck.

So basically I just screwed myself over this $100 part rather than a $30 ACdelco 214-2149 part which is essentially the same and can fix the problem for sure??

Who knows for sure. Every model is plumbed differently. Why do you feel the need to fill every square inch of the fuel tank and filler pipe?

After filling up the other day(2007 GMC Sierra crew cab , new body style) my "Check Engine Light" came on, (don't do the top off thing) and my dealer showed a P0449 code.

They changed the Solenoid ($185.00) used 9 feet of hose to reroute it to the firewall by brake booster and then blessed me with $170.00 labour to correct a known problem with these solenoids that I'm sure has been updated in later models.

I don't have question here, just wanted to vent......
