2007 escalade esv engine replacement

I have a chance to get a new 2013 6.2l engine and tranny and would like to replace my older unit since the truck is paid off and plan on keeping it a while. My question revolves around afm. Can my truck be flashed to work with the new afm motor and if not, does the motor default to run all eight when pcm does not give commands for the afm solinoid.

You have to change a lot to make it work. You have the v6/4 speed right?

It is a 2007 escalade esv with the 6.2l and 6 speed. U want to put a 2013 6.2l in it

I thought you were talking about your truck. Sorry long day of driving.

 

If both transmissions were for awd it will work fine. Both engines have AFM unless the 2013 is from a truck. All that should need to be redone is the security and crank relearns

my 2007 does not have afm but the 13 does.

Not sure. AFM isn't my forte
