Tranny Shudder

Tried this in another forum, guess it was the wrong place,opps!!! sorry.!

I have a 2002 2500hd 8.1/Alli.cc 2WD.

I'm getting a shudder in the trans when it shifts into 3RD gear.

This is only noticeable when the tranny warms up.It does it in normal mode, and in tow haul mode.it's there if i'm only in the throttle a little or alot.The shudder is proportional to the amount of throttle, IE alittle throt. a little shudder alot of thot. alot of shudder. All other gears are rock solid and smooth! It is also present when I manully put it thru the gears? Also the thing is a smooth as silk when its cold???

The truck has 25000 MI. on it. Thanks for any help in advance.

my tranny is starting to do the same thing. only when the temp is above 150 degrees. it shudders when going into 3rd gear. truck has 11,500 miles on it. should I worry?

I don't know if this helps, but there is a TSB, I don't have it, but it details a shudder on 1-2  and (I think) 2-3 upshifts, which is caused by electrical interference from the alternator, I believe. The fix involves some minor rewiring.

 

I'm assuming you mean upshift in your case.  I have a slight issue w/ my '03 there also, but only on 1-2 upshifts.  Part of the diagnosis involves driving in 75 degree outside temps, so I'm not gonna even bring it up w/ my dealer till Spring.
