Air leaking in ext. cab side windows

I don't know if there is, but when I told the dealership that I had this problem, the guy told me it was not an unusual problem and that it was covered under the warranty.  Unfotunately, it still leaks air and water so I have to get it replaced again.  You should be able to get it fixed/replaced for no out of pocket cost.

I think everyone of the new body styles leak air at some point...  mines leaked air since it was brand new   luckily not water tho...

Never really got on my nerves so I never took it in to the dealers...   can't hear it over the music lol

I had mine replaced in my '00 excab.  It was covered under warranty and the dealer had a glass company come to the dealership to perform the work.  I don't recall if they replaced all the weatherstripping and the latches, but I know they definatly were a little tougher to latch which made me believe they were closed tighter.

I don't know if there is a TSB or not, but I bet there is.  Generally a TSB is generated to help the dealer diagnose a common problem, and this was definatly a common problem!!!

My 00 sierra had a nasty whistle at highway speeds that was caused by air comming from the back window.  After having it sealed twice the second time they finaly got it right.....  Now I've got a 02 and started to noticed the anoying hum from the drivers side right in my ear  :smash: I guess I'll have to have them fix this guy also........

Good luck to ya and hopefuly you get it solved.

My '99 Sierra (3-door) had a nasty sounding air leak that 1 only heard once - when I was riding in the passenger seat.  I'd like to buy another extended cab truck in the future, but not if the driver's side rear door is going to make so much noise.  I'll probably have to stick with 4 real doors.
