My door locks are temperamental I can't open it with the key easily and the keyless entry doesn't always work either is there anything I can do without getting new locks

Yank the panels and hose down every pivot point from top to bottom on the linkage & latch assembly with a good, light spray lube (ANYTHING but WD40). Can also disconnect the lock solenoids and check those separately - lots of times they get loaded with crud & become difficult to move, especially if you live in the northeastern or northern midwestern parts of the USA (road sand / salt).

I used some penetrating lube so my drivers door will work from the outside with the key now so when the new security system goes in the place said they'd check it over so it works good

Problem with penetrating fluid is that they are not a good lubricant, even if they say they are in their name. Give it a few days for the fluid to finish drying up, and put a lubricant oil on all parts involved, staying away from soaking the solenoid near connectors or any seams.

Personally, I use the Dupont Teflon Multi-Use lube. Works great in real cold, and cleans on first application. Safe on rubber seals too.
