Automatic Fuel Management

I'm currently waiting for delivery of my 2014 GMC SLT. It has the Max Tow Package with the 6.2 engine. I have seen people post about getting a tune to shut off the AFM but I was wondering if putting the truck into Tow/Haul mode might turn it off, assuming the truck has a Tow/Haul mode like my '05 did. My truck is at event code status 3400 and is supposed to be built the week of Dec 9th. Being that I'm from Canada, I figure I won't see the truck until mid January. I ordered it on Oct 24th. Sure hope it's worth the wait. Cheers !

Sorry......I meant active fuel management

Tow/Haul still exists but it won't disable AFM. Running in M4 or M5 (as opposed to just drive) will lock out the tallest overdrive gear and at least on my 2011 turned off AFM.

As much as some people are meh about AFM, I don't mind it. I can run 17-18mpg average in my 2012 5.3 mostly highway but mixed driving during the sping/summer/fall. 18-20 on long trips. The 6.2 I think may benefit the most as its "engine size" is 3.1 liters when 4 cylinders are missing. Thats the size of some GM V6 engines back in the day.

And I can do the same with AFM disabled. ;)
