only bore the minimum to fix the cylinders. Leave your power to the type of pistons and stroke used

Do you think $350 for a rebuild kit is a fair price?

is that the summit cast kit? For a street motor it will do fine. But I would recomend a set of keith black flat tops. Those will work great with your vortec heads. Send your block to get machined first so you know exactly what size you need. Make sure you get your rods cliped and trued. And balancing will make your bearings last. You are looking at about 4-500 in block prep and rod work pkus about 180 for a balance job

So expect a line hone, bore and cylinder hone, new freeze plugs. May need crank reground, rods cliped and trued, and I highly recomend a balance job if not a full blue print. This couple with some keith black flat tops will have you grining ear to ear. This build .030 over makes a 355. Factory pistons are dished so the flat tops raise compression and power substamtially.
