I did the first oil & filter change on my 03 today, it has this " feature: that lets you know when the oil needs to be changed based on sensory, and gives you an display heads up on the driver info center on the dash... now in the manual it basically tells to how to reset the oil change display, however it only shows the deluxe controls ( on the steering wheel ) and says for other models use & cycle thru.. with the trip speedo / reset button stick... either way, I can see the hours / mileage / and change trip options and even the language display... but can not reset this basic " change oil soon " display & beep... LOL

If you have any ideas it would be helpful other then me contacting the dealer... thanks! :D

I don't know about the '03 models and it appears they must be different than the previous trucks.  But in the older ('99-'02) trucks, you turn the key to the "run" position, and depress the accelerator all the way to the floor 3 times in 5 seconds.  It doesn't appear that this is going to help you though... (you can try it if you want)

I have the steering redundant controls, so I set it w/ the "select" button, but I have reset the miles and avg mpg when I fill up.

Haven't tried it w/ the oil life readout, though.  If you can get the oil life % to display on the DIC w/ the stick, you can probably reset it by depressing and holding down the stick button.  I'd try this, and if this doesn't work, try the old way w/ the gas peddle:  turn key to "run", and depress then letup the accelerator 3 times fully in 5 secs.  It should beep several times and I would think display some message in the DIC indicating it was reset.

When I change oil in about 700 miles, I'll try just the stick reset, and if it doesn't work, I'll try the old gas peddle method, then report it here.

Good luck.  :D

Hum..............  This sounds like just another "ELECTRONIC" device to have go wrong........  What ever happened to the old days where you changed the oil at 3K and didn't have to do nothing?  Are we so forgetful that we need a reminder?

We'll I guess they have to make them better somehow :thumb:

its all goood now... with the ignition key turned to run I pumped the gas pedal 3 times and it reset... thanks for the quick heads up and info.... :D

BTW: while watching all my flud  level & visuals of the fluids... I did not change the oil until 6000 miles.. the oil cleanliness visualy was on par with the trucks oil sensory system... :thumb:

It does not have an 'oil sensory system'. It does have an engine oil life prediction system. It looks at many variables, engine temp, rpm, load, but non of the variables are an oil sensor. If you install cheep oil and a cheep filter, the system will say the same as if you had Moble1 and a dual bypass filter.

I am not telling you 'don't pay attention to the oil monitoring system'. I am saying it is not a substitute for good oil/filter.

i've changed oil 3 times in my truck---------using the computer to do the calculations for me---so far it has stayed at or close to  the 6000 mile mark  for change time--i'm keeping up with it also---so far so good :thumb:  :thumb:
