Only bird-hunting I did this season was for dove... #### good to eat, but I (hate to admit) have a hard time killing anything anymore... Even knowing that they arent at all going to be wasted, I have just decided that id rather watch em fly rather than watch em fall... Even with that said though, I sure would like a goose or 2 on the table... Mmmm...

The current hunt we have going on is a conservation permit to kill the snow geese off. There are so many of them they are destroying the wetlands and eating up all the food so that other birds are having a rough go of it. It is unlimited kill.

I need to get misdirected back into a duck blind when the action is hot. He will be hooked on quack!!

When you can see 70-80,000 in one morning it is easy to see where the problem is.    :smash:

Where are you at that you are getting that many snow geese flying?

SE Arkansas.

Plan to lay em out them this weekend. Also, first chance to see how the Chevy handles in the real mud since I bought it. None of this sissy mud. This is heartland farm gumbo stuff. If you gonna have to wash it, might as well get it real dirty!!!!    :smash:

Yah I agree with the real mud....... However  ???  I need to get some new tires for my truck, I was imbarassed the other day as I had to put my truck in 4 Wheel drive to bust thru some snow drifts, where in my old truck with a more (aggressive tire)I wouldn't have had to put it in 4 wheel drive....

As for the getting it real dirty..........The Wifey gave me a hard time last night that I didn't wash it so.........

I'm gonna half to wash it tonight...  :thumb:

I work on a NASA base that had to get the USDA to come in and take care of some of the geese. They gave them to the to the hunters for the hungry foundation. If the population is to high it can cause a real environmental problem.

That sounds cool.  I'm counting the days down to spring turkey season.  Right now it's like Siberia outside and I don't think anything is in season except maybe ducks or some other small birds in selective counties only.
