03 silverado whine, 45mph

I have an 03 Silverado, z71, 5.3l with about 105k miles

 

Been reading up on the power steering pump "whine" that many have experienced.

 

The problem with mine is that it only happens from about 40-48 miles per hour. There is a very significant whine coming from the truck. I don't have any clue what it could be.

 

Any ideas!????

Why do you think it is the power steering pump and not a belt, idler pulley, alternator, or a/c compressor?

transmission,

front diff

rear diff

t case

hub bearings

a/c compressor

alternator

p/s pump

water pump

or anything else that turns
